Timing // Isaiah 60:22
Timing is a curious thing, isn’t it? We can’t control how time passes…it passes all the same.
Today’s verse comes from the Lord’s words to Isaiah about how He will return glory to Jerusalem. It is imperative to remember it would happen in God’s time and nothing any person could do would change that. Yes, there must have been stress in recognizing the futility of trying to control the uncontrollable, but God gave the people a vision of hope.
Consider verses 19-20 from the same chapter, “No longer will the sun be your light by day or the moon be your light by night; I, the Lord, will be your eternal light; the light of my glory will shine on you. Your days of grief will come to an end. I, the Lord, will be your eternal light, More lasting than the sun and moon” (GNT).
If you are going through a time of darkness and despair, look to the Light. God is our illuminating force that shines beyond anything we associate with light. May we find peace in faith that God is real and power in hope that He will make it happen at the right time. We cannot force it; therefore, just gotta wait on the Lord. And as Isaiah relayed earlier, “they who wait upon the Lord will get new strength. They will rise up with wings like eagles. They will run and not get tired. They will walk and not become weak” (NIV).
