The Bible Still Speaks Today
A message in our “All About The Bible” series by Pastor Mark Jordan
Psalm 119:105-106 (NIV) | Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path. I have taken an oath and confirmed it, that I will follow your righteous laws.
Hebrews 4:12 (NIV) | For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
The Bible is Alive – it speaks across centuries and cultures
– If God’s Word is living, we should expect it to speak.
The Bible is Active – it does something to us.
– The Bible is not meant to simply inform your opinions but transform your life!
The Bible is Penetrating — it reveals the intersection of flesh and forever
– God’s Word cuts so that God’s grace can cure.
So, What Are We to Do?
- Live In Expectation: Encounter God through daily time in Scripture
- Live In Obedience: The Bible changes lives not when it is agreed with, but when it is obeyed.
- Live In Hope: Remember, transformation is gradual, but God’s way wins in the end.
The Bible is relevant because the Spirit of God still speaks through it. Will you allow it to shape who you become?
