Thank a Mail Carrier Day // 2 Timothy 4:2

Today is “Thank a Mail Carrier Day”. This is a time to thank those who bring our mail to us every day. From the early days with the Pony Express to a Saturday like today, these brave individuals bring our mail despite any “snow, rain, heat, and gloom of night.”

I remember being a kids and feeling thrilled whenever mail would come for me. It seems all I get these days are bills and junk mail; still, there are times when something beautiful arrives that makes my day. Those pieces of good news can fill my1 heart, put a smile on my face, and a spring in my step.

We all are supposed to carry good news, regardless of the conditions around us. Consider what we read in 2 Timothy 4:2, “Tell everyone God’s message. Be ready at all times to do whatever is needed. Tell people what they need to do, tell them when they are doing wrong, and encourage them. Do this with great patience and careful teaching” (ERV).

To whom can you carry the good news today? Whether it is a sweet treat, a kind word, genuine smile, or gentle embrace, find a way to engulf your actions in the loving peace of God. Be ready, encouraging, careful, inspiring, and instructive. It will change a life, beginning with your own.
