Protect and Direct // Psalm 139:10

Today’s verse comes from one of my all-time favorite Bible passages, Psalm 139. This Psalm was part of the framework I used in my doctoral work in pastoral counseling. It says so much about the human experience and how God is with us from before our physical beginning until well after our reunion with Him. I want to share a little more context for today’s writing, so enjoy today’s verse within it’s broader context of verses 7-12: “I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence! If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I go down to the grave, you are there. If I ride the wings of the morning, if I dwell by the farthest oceans, even there your hand will guide me, and your strength will support me. I could ask the darkness to hide me and the light around me to become night—but even in darkness I cannot hide from you. To you the night shines as bright as day. Darkness and light are the same to you.”

God is with you from highs and lows, light and dark, morning and night, and all the things we experience in life. God is with us through it all, protecting us with one hand and directing us with the other. Whatever you face today, know you don’t face it alone. God is with you, protecting and directing. Trust Him and keep going!
