For and to All // Mark 16:15
Today’s verse is the Great Commission according to the Gospel of Mark. This is important because we see Jesus say we are to go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. The reason this is so important is because up to that time, everyone believed the good news was solely for those of Jewish descent. As the Acts of the Apostles began, we see how God moved to let those of non Jewish heritage in on the plan of salvation. Peter, Paul, and most of the other disciples left their Jewish neighborhood to go out into the rest of the world and help everyone realize that God is real, loves them, and has a purpose for their lives beginning with a saving relationship. In Jesus, He sent His one and only Son to die on the cross, paying the penalty for sin, so we can find our salvation in Him. This is true for and to all! So, let’s head out on this Monday of Thanksgiving week truly grateful for what God did for us in Jesus. Then, let’s keep that sentiment of thanksgiving alive as we proclaim it everywhere we go and with everyone we meet.
