Focus and Trust // Isaiah 26:3

Yesterday we explored how worry means having a divided mind. Today’s verse gives us the perfect solution to worry: focus on, and trust in, God. Think of it like a parent trying to care for a frightened child who diverts attention away from something scary and directs it into their connected relationship. This is exactly what God wants of us when we feel worried or scared. Hebrews 12:2 encourages us to “fix our eyes on Jesus” who endured the horror of the cross because He knew it was just a stop along the way to His final destination at the throne of God. Since Jesus did that for us, He tells us to look at Him and trust that He will not lead us astray. That doesn’t mean we won’t have some scary things to overcome, but our eternal security is held in the hand of the Lord. So, if you’re facing something that worries you, focus on God and trust in Him. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus assured of the fact that love wins in the end!
