Your Fountain of Youth // 1 Timothy 4:12
Let’s look at today’s verse in full: “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.” The world so frequently looks down on young people because of a lack of experience. On the other hand, much of the experience people who’ve made a few more trips around the sun makes us cynical, jaded. I know I was far more willing to walk where angels fear to tread when I was younger and now can be a lot more cautious…and not always in a good way. How about you? But as we see the second part of this verse, we see the exuberance of youth that God wants shared with others is about an example of how to speak, behave, love, and live innocently. Where do you need to confess some cynicism that has caused you to pull back from some of the courage of youth? What can you do today to share the faithful and innocent love of Christ? Do that! Let your fountain of youth flood the world with Christ’s living water! It will create ripples to help change the world!
