You, too? // 2 Corinthians 1:4

We face troubles in this world. I don’t like them any more than any one else, but they serve a purpose. Troubles help develop our character, build perseverance, and direct our hope. This world is not perfect and we aren’t to confuse it for paradise. So what are we to do when we face troubles? Today’s verse gives us the assurance that God comes alongside us when we struggle so we are not alone. God then directs us to someone else going through hard times so we can support them, as well. What an image! It reminds me of how CS Lewis said that friendship begins with two words, “You, too?” I want to leave you today with this promise if you are facing a tough time: God is with you and you are not alone. Is there someone to whom you can go and prove the same? Put some skin on the bones of God’s presence for another and you are sure to feel it, too.
