Wonderful Things // Isaiah 25:1
I recommend you take a moment or two to read Isaiah 25 in its entirety. This chapter is so rich in showing how God works and moves throughout history. We see in the first verse a connection to our past — which predates our physical births by millennia — and draws a direct line to our future hope with the Lord. We see how God is present in the tough times and triumphant times alike. Verse 9 moves me as we are called to look to the future and live into the salvation secured by God through the Lord Jesus Christ: “Surely this is our God; we trusted in him, and he saved us. This is the Lord, we trusted in him; let us rejoice and be glad in his salvation” (NIV). So, may we trust in the God who saved us, saves us still, and promises to deliver us to the future with hope He always had in store. What wonderful things indeed!
