Wholehearted // Psalm 119:2
I love how today’s verse teaches that those who seek God with all their hearts are joyful! Why? Because of what Jeremiah 29:13 tells us that we will find God when we seek Him with our whole hearts. Now, I fully recognize that the times we tend to seek God are not the most joyous of times. I know I tend to turn to God most when I am at the end of my rope. As the old saying goes, God allows that so we know where we end and He begins. In that, though, there is joy, precisely because God is there to be found! I want to leave you today with a couple verses from Psalm 34:18-19 that mean a lot to me; especially in times of great heartbreak and tragedy: “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all”. May that bring you the greatest source of joy today and every day as you obey God’s law to love and continuously seek to be in the Lord’s presence.
