Turnarounds // 1 Samuel 2:3
Today’s verse comes from 1 Samuel and is contained in the prayer of the Prophet Samuel’s mother, Hannah. The gist of the prayer is how God is in charge of everything, but even more importantly, how God has the power to reverse life situations. All too often we think what we face in a moment will last a lifetime. God is Lord of the turnaround, though. Prayer is what helps us in times when we feel stuck. God knows our needs, but He wants to hear from His children. Prayer isn’t just about getting God to do things on command, but acknowledging that God is God and we, frankly, are not. That means prayer should also be used to help us develop patience and perseverance. Yes, we serve the God of the turnaround, and He wants you to always turn to Him. Go to God in prayer when you face challenges and trust Him with the results. As Hannah prayed, “He will guard the feet of his faithful ones,” so trust God to do that for you (v.9)!
