Trust // Isaiah 26:3
God keeps those who trust in Him in perfect peace. So why do I feel so peaceless from time-to-time? Well, honestly, because I put my trust in other things…things like who or what sits in the White House or a bank account. Let’s face it, everything in this world has the likely potential of letting us down. Not God, though…well, at least in the eternal sense. We might think God has let us down when our temporary circumstances don’t meet our expectations, but it’s imperative we remember that God is far more concerned with our character than our comfort. Ouch. And sometimes it takes some difficulties to activate our faith, just like it takes heat to purify a precious metal or to steep tea. So, if you find yourself struggling today, make sure it isn’t because you’ve misplaced your trust. And even if your trust in in its proper place, look to make sure God isn’t trying to purify you for more a more fruitful life in Him. Regardless, the Lord’s plan is to keep you in perfect peace despite what’s going on in your life. Remember, temporary troubles are nothing compared to the eternal triumph of God in Christ Jesus!
