Trust God’s Name // Psalm 20:7

Today’s verse comes from a Psalm to celebrate the assurance of God’s saving work. King David acknowledged that there are some who trust in military might, but nothing can compare to the power of God. David went on to write that while armies might fall, those who trust in the Lord will rise and stand up tall. We can fast forward into the New Testament and embrace the fulfillment of this promise in Jesus. Remember how Jesus told Nicodemus that we must be born again of the Spirit (John 3:1-21). John also wrote this beautiful gem in one of his letters, “everyone born of GodĀ overcomesĀ the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith” (1 John 5:4). May the promise of Scripture steel your spine today. Trust in God’s power and eternal security in God’s name. It is victory and blesses you with the assurance of God’s saving work now and forever.
