God’s Grace is Your Strentgh // Titus 2:11-12
Titus 2:11-12 (NIV) | “For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say ‘No’ to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age…”
We are not the first generation to face a complete breakdown in truth and loss of faith in the institutions to which we’ve tried to tether our sense of security. We read that God’s plan was to empower us with His grace and the knowledge that salvation is at hand, even when things seem so awful right now. The corruption in the world can leave us feeling weak and helpless, but that need not be the case. Consider what the Apostle Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 12 when he lamented to the Lord about His weakness. God told him, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9a). Paul went on to write, “Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me…. For when I am weak, then I am strong” (2 Corinthians 12:9b and 10b). If the craziness in the world causes you to feel weak, know that Jesus’ strength is available right now to overwhelm you with God’s amazing grace and overcome you with His eternal strength. That way you can face whatever comes your way with self control to not succumb to temptation and empower you to live the self-controlled life that will give you find the peace of eternity right here and right now.
