The Physical Word // John 1:14

John 1:14 (NIV) | The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

I heard a stat the other day that surprised and inspired me — physical Bible sales are up 22% in 2024, the highest in some 40 years! I love that, especially when I think about how frequently I turn to my tablet, phone, or computer to read Scripture. What’s ironic is I’m not really a fan of e-readers, because I prefer to hold the book, smell its aroma, and fiddle with the pages. The physical experience seems to help me absorb what I read. Is there a book that’s any more important to absorb than the Bible? I thank the Lord for His Word, which is so much more than ink on a page bound into a book. It is so much more and speaks into my heart and soul. And I think the physical experience is what people are seeking…making the truth of Scripture even more real in our lives. How about you? I’d like to know what you think.
