The Anchor Holds, pt.1 // Hebrews 6:19
I have looked forward to this devotion ever since I resumed writing (almost) daily. Hebrews 6:19 is one of my life verses as it teaches that hope anchors the soul. This visual applies to calm or chaotic waters alike. If you are experiencing life’s storms, the anchor can help keep you from drifting too far off course. If you are in a time of calm, the anchor can help keep you where you want to be. Regardless the condition of the water, the height or violence of the waves, having hope provides that anchor for your soul that you can stay right in God’s powerful, personal presence. This hope is the assurance that God’s way wins in the end, despite what you must endure today. So, if you know you have a calm or chaotic day facing you, know that the anchor holds. Even if a surprise or two is thrown your way, trust that anchor and embrace them in hope. Hope does not disappoint (Romans 5:5), and for that we can be thankful!
