Taste and See // Psalm 34:8
Today’s verse fits within a theme we see throughout the Scriptures. It got Jesus into a little bit of trouble because people were confused by what He said in John 6.55-56, “For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. 56 Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him” (NIV). People thought He was talking about cannibalism, but that couldn’t be farther from the truth! God wants us to consume Him spiritually, to take in His message, be fueled by His Spirit, and propelled by His purpose. He also wants us to view this as essential for survival just as we do food and water. We will find that we aren’t just nourished when we turn to God, but nurtured, too! So, will you take time today to feed on the Word of God? I know you will be glad you did!
