Stand Ready in Perfect Peace // Ephesians 6:14-15

Yesterday we looked at how God shows up to help us stand, even after we’ve done everything else. Today’s verse continues this theme telling us to stand firm with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. The Bible is full of lessons about how God shows up to steady us in conflict. I must confess I’d prefer He remove me from the strife, but God’s way is to help us stand strong in the face of it. Isiaah 26:3 says, “You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!” Please note that this doesn’t say God keeps us in potential or partial peace, but perfect peace! What we need to do is be ready to move when God moves. This makes me think of the fielders in a baseball game who stay on their toes with every pitch, ready to make the play. So, will you keep your feet firmly planted in faith while staying on your toes? God will bring you the peace you need, so be ready!
