Seize the Day // Ephesians 5:16-17
Carpe Diem urges us to seize the day and live fully in the present. Scripture echoes this wisdom but redirects it: seize each moment not for fleeting pleasures, but to faithfully pursue God’s calling on your life. This is what we read in Ephesians 5:15-16, “Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil” (NIV). Yes, the days are short and often chaotic — frequently filled with distractions and evil influences to keep our hearts and eyes focused on things other than the Lord. This is precisely why we need to seek wisdom or knowing what to do with what we know. So, let’s seize this day for Christ! Don’t drift or procrastinate; but respond promptly to the opportunities God places before you to love, serve, share the gospel, and grow in Christ. Things might not always seem grand, because sometimes it’s the quiet faithfulness in daily obedience, but every “yes” to God helps us seize the hope of eternity for today and everyday!
