Seek, Call, & Find // Isaiah 55:6

Today’s verse is a perfect follow-up to yesterday’s when we considered loving God and others. I wrote about how we are to seek forgiveness, reconciliation, and restoration in relationships. Today’s verse carries that forward as it is found in a section of Isaiah pointing to God’s promised renewal. What we find here is God leaves the choice up to you. Free will can be a sticky thing for us, but the truth is it reveals our motivations. If we want to find God, we will if we call on Him. Jeremiah 29:13 also speaks to this: “If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.” God’s awesome promise is that He can be found, but we must seek Him with our whole heart. He is as near to you as your very next breath, so call on Him. Seek Him. He promises you will find Him when you do.
