Renewed Strength for a Renewed Soul // Psalms 23:3

Aaaaah, the 23rd Pslam (click here to read it in its entirety). Today’s verse refers to how God renews our strength as He leads us in the ways of righteousness. I think this is an interesting thing for us to contemplate on this Saturday; especially if it’s a day of rest for you. The ways of God — though they can be challenging — have a way of seeming somewhat contradictory in that the more we do for God, the more at peace we tend to feel. It’s like getting in a serious spiritual groove so that even the most difficult tasks can be life-giving if we do them in the Lord’s rhythms of grace. God’s message to you and me in the 23rd Psalm points to helping us recover our soul. We see Jesus echo this in Matthew 11:28-30 as He promised that learning to work in His rhythm will give us the rest for the soul we long for. So, take time today to let God give you new strength…His strength. Allow God to help you recover your soul as you learn to work and rest in His strength.
