Rejoice, Pray, and Thank God // 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Today’s verse is a good one for us to consider on this day before Thanksgiving. It reminds us that we need to always have a heart full of joy, lifted in prayer, and animated by gratitude regardless what we face. True, this does not mean that everything we face in life is good, but good can come of it when we trust our unknown future to our known God. As Paul promised in his letter to the Romans, God works all things together for those who love Him. So, trust Him today, even if you’re enduring some hardships. Stay in prayer and shape your worries into requests. Knowing that God hears you, is with you, and working all things together for good for you is all the reason you need to rejoice. So, may that pattern shape today, your Thanksgiving, and every day for that matter: rejoice, pray, and thank God!
