Purpose in the Pain // James 1:12

Today’s verse says blessed is the one who endures trials. I get it, but I don’t like it. The entire verse in context reads, “Blessed is the one who endures trials, because when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him” (CSB). James wants everyone to know that with God there is purpose in the pain. Trials are temporary, and when approached with perspective, help us grow stronger in faith by forcing us to rely on God over self. If you are struggling through trials of any kind right now, focus less on your anguish and more on the lesson you can learn that will help you prepare for eternity with Christ.
