God Shows Up // Psalms 34:18

Today’s verse became real to me when Mia died. I was crushed! I felt lost, desperate, despondent. I feared God was far away but came to realize He was closer than ever. It was hard to feel at the time but realized in hindsight that He was always there. Sometimes He showed up in a person who called, texted, or came by for a quick visit. Sometimes He came in a greeting card or a casserole. The Bible promises that God is close to the brokenhearted and uses people to be messengers — angels! — to remind us we aren’t alone. When have you experienced someone showing up as an angel for you? When did someone consider you an angel just for showing up, helping mend wounds and restore a crushed spirit? The bottom line is God shows up, and His favorite way to do so is in us!
