In Awe of God // Psalm 19:14

Today’s verse brings back a lot of memories to mind. My childhood pastor would always pray this verse aloud as he began a sermon. There were times I wondered if it was just a habit, but now that I’ve had an opportunity to preach and teach God’s Word, I realize it was more of a discipline. The reality is we often take our experiences and expressions of God’s power and presence for granted. I think it is wise that we all take seriously the majesty of God; in fact, that is precisely what the entire 19th Psalm addresses. I encourage you to give it a read, slowly, and intentionally. Be in awe of the Lord and commit your mouth to speak from the overflow of the heart, all experiencing and expressing the awesomeness of God!
