Precious Promises // 2 Peter 1:4

We are currently looking at some of God’s promises this season at Hope Church. The design is for us to be able to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus has already taken hold of you and me. I ran across this verse the other day and it was as though it grabbed me and wouldn’t let go. I love how Peter referred to the precious promises made available to us in the glorious excellence of Jesus. The take-away comes in realizing promises aren’t just for us to hold on to, but also share. You look around and see so much corruption because of people’s competing desires. It’s turned into a true dog-eat-dog culture and we’re reaping the consequences. If we can get back to that which is glorious and excellent, it might just help us raise our gaze from the sickness in the world to illuminate the work of the Great Physician and Wonderful Counselor. We desperately need God’s help since He has called us to share in His divine nature as we share His love for others. So let’s go do it! Let’s go embody those promises and reflect the hope we have in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
