Plant A Flower Day // John 12:24

Happy National Plant a Flower Day, a time we can devote to remembering there are times we must let things go in order for them to grow. Jesus said as recorded in John 12:24, “Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds” (NIV). The simple point Christ made was if you try to hold onto a single seed, you’ll end up missing the harvest. This challenges our scarcity mindset where we fear letting go will lead to lack, but God wants us to know that when we trust our things to Him and His natural law, He performs exponential miracles. Now, I’m not a green thumb by any stretch of the imagination, but I know I have seeds in my life that God can use to bless others and help create a harvest of hope. How about you? Nothing will happen if you just hold on to them, so let them go, let them die to their premature nature so they can — by God’s grace — become what they were always intended to be!
