Overcoming Conquerors

John 16:33

John 16:33 is a verse that I turn to frequently; especially when facing life’s challenges. It feels particularly relevant as we get ready to trade our calendars for 2022. Some of us feel like we conquered 2021 and some of us feel like 2021 conquered us. Regardless how we come to the waning hours of this year, turning to Jesus means you have access to overcoming power. Yes, the world will cause us troubles, but we can take heart because Jesus overcame our trouble-causing world. The Apostle Paul wrote famously that we are more than conquerors through the love of God in Jesus (Romans 8:37). I like that. It points me in faith to the idea of being an overcoming conqueror…and not just in the new year, but eternally. Do you find that helpful? Do you want to be an overcoming conqueror? Whatever the world tries to throw our way in 2022, we can all be overcoming conquerors with Jesus since nothing can separate us from Him. That doesn’t mean we won’t have our moments of difficulty, but when you have Jesus you have everything!
