Over All // Psalm 103:19
Psalm 103:19 (NIV) | The LORD has established his throne in heaven, and his kingdom rules over all.
Our verse for this, the last Saturday of 2023, reminds us how God rules over all. There are inferences to the end times in this Psalm and how even though it feels like evil gets the upper hand, God is still in control. Just as we will turn our calendars to a new year in a matter of hours, God will turn over the corruption and chaos into His heavenly comfort and order. The enemy knows he is going down and wants to take as many to hell with him. We see him upping the ante in these final days (whether that is months or millennia in our keeping of time) and people are falling for it in ways I never could have previously conceived. I want to close with verses 13-14 from this same Psalm as a way to bring you some hope: “As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him; for he knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust” (NIV). May we embrace God’s cosmic power and compassion with the comfort that God’s Kingdom rules over all, even when times are hot and hard.
