On Anxiety // Philippians 4:6-7
Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV) | Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
How well do you do with the command to not be anxious? Goodness, it is one of the biggest areas in my life where I slip into practical atheism; i.e., believing God is in control but not acting like it. I love the Corrie ten Boom quote and want to share it with you as we start the day: “Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow, it empties today of its strength. Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God.” Yes, we face an unknown future that can cause all kinds of anxiety, so let’s trust it to our known God. After all, we might not know what tomorrow holds, we know Who holds tomorrow.
