National Son’s Day // John 3:16-17
John 3:16-17 (NIV) | For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
Happy National Son’s Day! This is a sweet day to recognize the love of a son. It is actually recognized twice a year — March 4 and today, September 28. This is a day where Tiffany and I reflect over the love we feel for and from Ethan, spanning the moment we knew we would be parents, when we found out he was a boy, anticipating his birth, and every day since. His life is a gift and being his parents is one of the greatest joys of our lives.
I have to think about how God approaches National Son’s Day. We read in John 3:16 that God gave the world the gift of Jesus for our salvation. I can’t even imagine how God’s heart broke when He sent Jesus knowing what awaited Him; on the other hand, God knew His horror would be temporary so our hope could be eternal. The hope is extended, and exists for you and me, right this very moment. We don’t need to wait for a Sunday or a Son’s Day to receive the gift of eternal life in Jesus.
If you would like to know more about God’s love for you in Jesus, please let me know. You can comment below or send me an email ([email protected]). Let this National Son’s Day be one where you accept and believe in the gift of eternal life through God’s Son, and our Savior, Jesus!
