National Seed Swap Day // 1 Peter 1:23

It’s National Seed Swap Day! This is a time when we are encouraged to look forward to spring and planting seeds for our gardens. Something that makes today all the more special is the idea we are to swap and share seeds with our neighbors so we all have a role in beautifying the landscape of God’s creation. As beautiful as creation is here on earth, it pales in comparison to heaven, which is the ultimate place God has in store for us. 1 Peter 1:23 gives us a neat nugget about how God longs to do a seed swap in our own lives, trading the perishable for the unperishable through the living and enduring Word of God. We know that is JESUS, who died for our sins so we can live for Him. So, on this National Seed Swap Day, take some time to thank God for swapping our temporary garden for His eternal home! His One and Only Son gave of His life to make that exchange, and we owe Him all our praise as we take root in eternity.
