Love One Another // John 13:34

Jesus gave a commandment: to love one another as God loves us. Love is God’s very nature (1 John 4:8), so Jesus is telling us to put on God’s nature. We talked about this from the point of view of eternal glory yesterday, but today I want to consider its daily implications. Loving others as Jesus loves put their needs first. It looks for ways to serve. It considers sacrifice a way of life and not an occasional opportunity or burden. Jesus said in the very next verse that we will be known as His disciples as we love one another. I hope this is a helpful challenge for you today. Think of ways you can exhibit humility, serve others, and offer your everyday life as a sacrifice worthy of what Jesus did you for.
