Love God and Others // John 13:34

It’s SCUBA VBS week at Hope Church! Tooday the divers will learn about how God love people and wants us to love others, too. The primary story for today is all about Jonah going to Nineveh. Did you know he did NOT want to go? That’s ultimately how he ended up in the belly of the whale. Jonah got a little snippy with God because he presumed God would show grace to the residents of Nineveh whether he went there or not. The lesson wasn’t just about saving the Ninevites, but also about how God uses us to do things to help us learn, too. Our verse for the day shows us that we are to love as God loves. It’s easy to love the loveable, but how about the unlovable? Jonah had a hard lesson to learn, just like we do from time to time. So, let’s follow Jesus’ example and love God and others, even — if not especially — when it’s difficult!
