Live Courageously // Acts 2:28

The context for today’s verse is Peter’s sermon on Pentecost Sunday where some 3,000 people came to know Jesus as Lord and Savior! Peter offered a very straight forward process: repent, receive baptism in Jesus’ name, and God will give you the Holy Spirit. The people gathered that day saw the impact of the Holy Spirit in the disciples’ lives, giving them the courage and words to speak of Jesus’s love. Peter lived this, didn’t he? From denying Jesus in cowardice to boldly proclaiming salvation in Christ alone, it was obvious the difference Jesus made in Peter’s life. If you’re looking for radical transformation, you, too, can follow Peter’s prescription: repent, or turn away from your old worn-out, burned-out way of living; receive baptism — or recommit your baptism if you’ve already been baptized; then live courageously in the power of God’s Holy Spirit.
