Little Things Can Have Massive Impact // Romans 12:1
I really appreciate today’s verse in The Message Version. Check out how it’s rendered, “So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him.” We see that sacrifices for God don’t always have to be these major, massive acts. In fact, sometimes the little things done for the Lord can carry the most significant impact! Why? Well, I think one reason is how easy it is for us to just go into autopilot during everyday, ordinary tasks. What would it look like to give God those moments that you think are insignificant…those times when you think no one is looking? Can you pray? Strike up a conversation? Wave at a passerby? Entertain a child? Return a grocery cart to the corral? Lend a hand? Of course! God uses those times when people’s defenses are lowered to reach them at points of great need, and frequently when they didn’t even know they need it! And you know what? More times than not, the person who needs it most might just be you.
