Let’s Make it a GREAT Year! // Numbers 6:24-26

Today is the first day of school for many of the local students in our community. We had a wonderful blessing for them, their families, teachers, and school staff persons this past Sunday at the close of worship. I am praying for them again this morning as they make their way into a new school year. I want to pray a special scriptural prayer for them and all of us today. This passage comes from the book of Numbers, and specifically is a blessing God told Moses and Aaron to pray over the people. I want to pray that prayer in the same sentiment today and ask you to join me. Will you?

“The Lord bless you and keep you;
the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you;
the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”

Amen!

May this be our prayer for the start of the new academic year. Let’s do all we can to help people know the Lord has and holds them; is shining His heavenly light on them now and forever; and longs to bring the peace that only He can which flies in direct contradiction to everything the world wants to try and impress upon us. Let’s make it a GREAT year and do what we can to keep praying blessings over all God’s children!
