Let it Out // James 5:13
There are times we tend to hold in what we’re feeling. If we’re really down, maybe we don’t want to talk about it rehash our problems. If we’re really up, maybe we don’t want to come across like a braggart and hurt someone’s feelings. The reality is we all have feelings. I know that isn’t a surprise. Feelings in-and-of themselves aren’t bad, but the way we deal with them can be. Holding our feelings in can be like damming a river that must constantly flow. If pressure isn’t released, damage can be done to the dam, causing it to flood the surrounding areas. Our emotions work much the same way. God expects us to share our triumphs and tragedies alike. He designed the church to be a family where we cry with those who grieve and cheer with those who celebrate. So let’s look to share our feelings, and share in the events of life with others…in the good days, the bad days, and every day in between.
