Let Go to Hold On // Acts 2:24

The Apostle Paul bade farewell to his friends in Ephesus on his way to Jerusalem. He knew he would not receive a friendly greeting when he arrived because of how the authorities were trying to snuff out the growing Jesus movement. Paul took his inspiration from the Lord for the next stop in his journey remembering Jesus’ words as recorded in Matthew 16:25, “For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it.” The same is true for you and me. The more we try to hold on to what we have at the expense of what God has in store, we’ll end up missing out on both. Your life is precious to God and He wants to use you to help others find the gift of eternal life. In other words, you have to let go of your temporary comfort to find God’s eternal consolation. So, let your life be used by the Lord in promoting the Good News of Jesus!
