Knowing God like Water is Wet // Habakkuk 2:14

What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you read today’s verse? For me it’s how fish don’t know that water is wet. This seems to me to be the gist of today’s passage. The whole earth — even with all the evil we see around us — is filled with the grace and glory of God. There are some who bask in it, some who reject it, and some who sense it yet don’t fully understand. Regardless, the Bible says the time will come when every knee will bow and tongue confess that Jesus is Lord (Philippians 2:9-11). How do you find the world? There are times when the nastiness of our culture can discourage me, but the reality is it provides a stark contrast as obvious as night and day. The Scriptures often use light as a metaphor for God’s presence, power, and persona; therefore, let’s go shine that Jesus light out in the world so those seeking can (A) know God is real, and (B) be assured that God is really good (Matthew 5:16). So, let’s get to it…let’s GOOOO!
