Keep On Shinin’ // Matthew 5:16

Today’s verse is very important for me. Jesus essentially says we need to do good wors so people can see that God is real and really good. This is juxtaposed with the idea that there is darkness in the world, and people need to see light as a reminder that God is there. John 1 tells us that light shines in the darkness, overcomes it, and vexes evil as to why. We see so much darkness all around us in culture that it might be easy to throw up our hands and ask, “why bother?” Jesus gives the answer! To illuminate the fact that there is still good in the world and point people who feel hopeless to the hope of the world. Will you commit to doing that today? Someone’s eternal life might just be in the shadow your glow will banish!
