Keep Going! // Galatians 6:9

Today is Sir Winston Churchill Day, commemorating this date in 1963 when President Kennedy granted honorary US citizenship to the “British Bulldog.” Churchill was honored because of his leadership and bravery during WWII in standing up to the Nazi threat in England and throughout Europe. One of my favorite quotes of Churchill’s came from that time when he said, “If you’re going through hell, keep going.” That’s poignant to me because of how human nature can cause us to want to quit when we encounter difficulties. We can’t! We must persevere. Galatians 6:9 tells us more emphatically, “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” We will always encounter difficulties in life, but the only key to failure is quitting in the face of them. So, on this day when we celebrate the life and legacy of Sir Winston Churchill, may we follow his advice to keep going even when we’re encountering hell on earth, because God is still on His throne and promises resolution to all of this when His timing is right.
