Keep Connected to Christ // John 15:4-5

John 15:4-5 (NIV) | Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

Jesus’ intention in teaching the words we have in our verse for the day is to stay connected. I think He is alluding to something in our human nature that can derail even the best of relationships — when things are going well, we tend to think it is all of our doing. Jesus wants us to realize that God is the source of all that is good, and we must stay connected to Him to produce the fruit He designed and desires for us. So, stay close to the Lord. Remain in Him. Let Him tend to you as only He can. Then, watch to see the harvest of faith that can be found through your deep, abiding connection with Him.
