#JesusStrong // Philippians 4:13
Today’s verse is, I believe, the very first one I memorized. It’s been one that I’ve misunderstood from time-to-time. It is a triumphant verse for sure, but the context is important. The Apostle Paul wrote about how he experienced the highest highs and the lowest lows of life, and was only able to endure thanks to the strength of Jesus. I refer to this as #JesusStrong. Jesus Christ is with you in the good times and bad, imparting His strength onto — and into— you. Paul certainly wrestled with what went well and what didn’t. He wrote these words in 2 Corinthians 12:9-10, starting with a quote from the Lord “’My power works best in weakness.’ So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” If you are feeling weak today, know God’s strength is available to you. Allow the Lord’s strength to overwhelm your weaknesses and make you #JesusStrong!
