Jesus, The King of kings // Zechariah 14:9

Today’s verse points to a prophecy of Jesus as the King of kings who will reign over all the earth. We see this stated emphatically in Revelation 1:5-6 that Jesus Christ “is the first to rise from the dead, and the ruler of all the kings of the world. All glory to him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by shedding his blood for us. He has made us a Kingdom of priests for God his Father. All glory and power to him forever and ever! Amen” (NLT). This falls directly in line with other writings this week where we considered Jesus’ sacrificial death that frees us from the power of sin and enables us to be brought back into a right relationship with God. All of this is because of God’s great love for us. So, let’s give thanks to Jesus the Lion, the Lamb, and King of kings. Amen!
