Immanuel // Matthew 1:23

Yesterday we looked at trusting in the name of God. Today, I want us to consider how the Gospel of Matthew gives us another glimpse into the name of God in which we can place our trust: Immanuel, which means, God with us (note spelling differences since Immanuel is from Greek and Emmanuel is from Hebrew). So, we see that God exists, provides, saves, and stays. If you find yourself struggling with any aspect of life, know that Jesus came to say He is with us and is the embodiment of God’s promise, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go” (Joshua 1:9, NIV).
