Hope & Love // Psalm 147:11

We are almost through this first week of Advent where we are exploring the power of hope in the Christian life as we ready our lives to celebrate Jesus’ coming, but also anticipating His promised return. I think it’s a good idea for us to revisit the message of the angel who revealed Christ’s birth to the shepherds; check it out: “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests” (Luke 2:14, NIV). What we see is God sent Jesus for all the world out of His incomparable love. God’s favor truly rested on Earth as His one and only Son rested in a feeding trough filled with hay. That, my friends, is the gift of love that inspired the hope of the world and pulls us forward until we are all united with the Lord in eternity. So, may we revere the Lord as a child does its parents, and find hope in the love of God that takes pleasure in you and me!
