Here Hear // Romans 10:17

The first thing that came to mind for me in this season when I read today’s verse actually goes all the way back into the Old Testament with Elijah in the cave (1Kings 19). It was there when the prophet was listening for God in the earthquake, gale-force winds, and a roaring inferno, but was only able to hear God when he quieted himself enough to hear the Lord’s voice in a whisper. Jesus, or Immanuel (meaning God with us) is here and near. But, are we close enough to be able to hear Him over all the distractions we invite into our lives? What about the chaos we cannot control? We need to be quiet enough to be able to hear the Words of God from the living Word of God! He is here and near. Will you position yourself in such a way where you can hear Him over all the other noise in life?
