Guard Your Heart // Proverbs 4:23

Proverbs 4:23 (NIV) | Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.

Solomon instructed us to guard the heart because everything we do flows from it. Jesus echoed this when He said, “What you say flows from what is in your heart” (Luke 6:45, NLT). One way to ensure that what flows from within is beneficial is to first fill it with things of faith, hope, and love. Start with prayer. Read Scripture. Listen to worship music. Make your environment suitable for serenity. Then, guard it aggressively. That way, your life becomes a vessel…a conduit, if you will…for God’s grace to flow to and through you.
