Greater // 1 John 4:4

Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote, “What lies behind you and what lies in front of you pales in comparison to what lies inside of you.” The Jesus follower knows that this refers to God thanks to today’s verse from 1 John 4:4 and how we see that the One (God’s Holy Spirit) who is in us is greater than the one (Satan and his minions) in the world. This is why we need not fear the junk we see all around us but need to commit to living for Christ in all ways and in all things. I want to close with some inspiring words from Philippians 3:13b-14, “Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”
